Abandoned now due to rock failure, this 90 year old dam is located 25 minutes from Boulder Creek Retreat near Bonners Ferry, Idaho and is a neat excursion and brief half mile hike. Turn off Hwy 2 to head down the gravel Eileen Road for 10 minutes (4 miles) until you cross the train tracks. Park and hike down the trail for a half mile until the cliff side and you will see the dam roughly 50 yards below you. Bring active or hiking footwear if you want to hike down to the dam or swimming hole, the trail is steep with some loose rocks.
